Clown’s Broken Vow

I was dressed as a clown entertaining a wealthy young master at his birthday party when I found out my nine-year boyfriend was already another woman’s husband. He held their seven-year-old son in his arms and kissed his rich wife, while I stood onstage in my clown costume, my palm sliced open by a sharp blade. Blood dripped onto the stage, yet he never spared me a single glance. Later, he knelt on a street in the United States begging me to take him back: “I’ve divorced her. Please, just look at me again.” I laced my fingers through my new boyfriend’s hand and said, “I have a boyfriend now, Mr. Blackwood. Please respect yourself.”
